Are you 12 years old?

This year has been a big year filled with some really challenging situations. 

My daughter is 12 and she was struggling with issues no 12 year old should have to deal with. Issues that I dont remember ever having to deal with when I was 12, however, I realised that we were united in our 12 year old ness and I put myself in her shoes wholeheartedly.

I have been 12 and now, she is 12 - so I remembered what life was like for me and I spoke to her about my experience as a 12 year old and how I got myself through what I thought were difficult times for me and I realised, connecting with each other through conversations is so important.

I started sharing my experience with others; what it was like for me to be 12, and I started to hear stories being told back to me of what it was like for them to be 12 and realised, there is a place for these stories to be told and for these stories to be shared, and for the stories to reach other 12 year olds out there.

What might it be like to feel known, to feel validated, to feel heard, to feel valued? What might it be like to be inspired, to hear how these 12 year olds turned out? What might it be like to honour your dreams, hopes and wishes above all else?
